DM Test Results: bladeandbow.boards.net/thread/3561/frozen-cathedral-dm-test-dustyIn combat situations: Well done, overall. Intelligent enemies were played as such, and unintelligent enemies likewise. Might have benefited from some macros, but wasn't slowed by their lack. In social situations: NPCs reacted realistically to weird shit and felt like actual people instead of just walking bounty boards. In GM/Player interactions: Kept the game running smoothly and made sure no one hogged all the airtime. Very friendly and personable. Overall: Pass The following isn't an official observation, but nonetheless I feel I need to mention it. I was in Dusty's third test and there was a puzzle that required rather in-depth knowledge of musical notation. I do not believe that that kind of puzzle is a good idea in our kind of playstyle. In a home game where you know your players well, certainly, give them puzzles that play to their strengths and unique knowledge. But here I would stick with more general things, riddles, jigsaws, logic puzzles, etc. Also, puzzles that damage you (especially for roughly half the HP of a low-CON d8 character with no save and no discernible reason as to why it's happening) is a bit of poor form. In my experience it discourages players and makes them try to seek a way around the puzzle instead of actually attempting it. Remember, the smart characters are usually squishy.

DM Test Table-Stats: bladeandbow.boards.net/thread/3575/frozen-cathedral-2?page=1&scrollTo=17182In Combat: Well done, good rules knowledge, combat was used to drive the game, rather than rando murder fodder Social situations: The only actual NPC fit the game well Puzzles: Challenging, varied, interesting, one puzzle was reliant on particular specialized knowledge, should consider that if there are such puzzles in future games make them by pass-able Also consider giving a puzzle a CR and thus xp and gold reward appropriate to its difficulty and APL Setting: Very interesting Overall: pass

For the Game bladeandbow.boards.net/thread/3575/frozen-cathedral-2Overall: Fail. Several basic mistakes were made for combat things that you need to know even for the 1-7 tag. Encounters were in general poorly balanced and a few choices were made that i thought did not make sense especially compared to other options. The few puzzles presented had drastic penalties especially considering they had little to no guidelines presented in the environment or by NPCs. It was close to a pass, and honestly i think it would have been had there not been nerves or tiredness on the gms part throughout the entire session, although I would highly highly recommend against single creature encounters.
