The party received one day, while lazily drinking in a largely deserted tavern, an odd message carried by a silver raven. The writer of the note pleaded for whom ever received the letter to come and kill him, as he feared he was going insane and could not bear the thought of being a danger to the world. After attempting to eat the raven the party set out for Jekyde's tower.
Upon arrival, the party noticed a sleeping juvenile hippogriff, which they thought was very cute, however upon further inspection the hippogriff began trying to kill them, which wasn't very cute at all. After subduing the hipogriff, a cit sith revealed itself from the nearby bushes, and shattered Lt. Dan's grip on reality briefly by revealing to him the wonders of communism. Lt. Dan, not to be dissuaded by such a false curse, led the party in vanquishing the cat, over the suggestions that the cat may in fact have been the wizard. After being damaged thoroughly, the cat began to run, but Laura, a sworn enemy to all feline kind, because obviously, pursued the cat and surprised it by hurling her shield at hte foul beast, which in stoic rebuttal, promptly began dying. The party healed the cat, convinced that it may have in fact been the wizard, and Dan was again lured into the depths of communistic thought. Until the party KOed the cat and threw it on the pile with the hippogriff.
That done the party finally entered the tower, and were greeted by the welcome wagon, which happened to be a two headed death worg with a hapless hobgoblin tied to its back. The dog began it's welcoming party, and got swiftly to work killing the party, and was swiftly brought itself to the brink of death. The party offered quarter to the hobgoblin, who refused. He soon realized the folly of this, and was killed just as he began attempting to cut the bonds tying to the dead weight of the death worg.
Going upstairs, the most terrible horrors were revealed, a motionless burlap doll. The party proceeded to fill the doll with as many holes as possible before turning to the adamanite cobra also in the room, which they had great difficulty doing damage to, on account of it being constructed of adamanite. As they fought, a few fetchlings came down what appeared to be an over-sized and under use fireplace, and were swiftly either clotheslined, or shot through hte neck with arrows. After finally the cobra drew its last metallic hiss, Bolt Vanderhuge took the doll with him, and informed the party that he really must be getting back to a previous engagement and walked stiffly home.
Thus, the party moved to the only other point of egress from the room, the chimney. Laura began to attempt to climb the chimney, ad suddenly found herself flying as if weightless when the slightest hop elevated her. Seeing this, Lt. Dan instructed his draconic construct to fly them up, which he failed, as the magic of the chimney applied only to jumping. After realizing this the party was able to ascend the shaft by leaping up floor to floor until they reached the top of the tower, where what else would the discovered but
ANOTHER CREEPY DOLL. and oh yea the wizard. After reducing the doll so a smoldering heap of ash, and after Lt. Dan's dragon revealed to the wizard he was immune to fire, the wizard's greatest strength. The party pummeled the wizard into unconsciousness, and began discussing how to proceed. During this time the wizard woke up, managed to get the gag out of his mouth and began gibbering with little direction. Growing tired of this, Lt. Dan moved to replace the gag, whence the wizard began shrieking and the room filled with a brilliant light, dazzling most of the party, but not Dan, who successfully gagged the wizard. Laura then proceeded to pummel the wizard right well, ensuring he wouldn't again pose a threat. The party began carrying the many they had rendered unconscious to the "proper authorities" and dropped them of in a temple of Iomedae, which also served as the local prison. Upon reaching the prison, they also came to the unnerving realization that at some point during their travels, the cat had awoken and escaped, without trace. The priests promised to update the party on the wizards health, and thanked them for their help.
A few days passed and each of the party members received a letter, this time delivered by a regular messenger, from the temple, informing them the wizard Jekyde had somehow escaped, and left a peculiar note on the wall of his cell. He thanked the party for helping him and informed them that he was going back to help people. He was so glad that they had killed that infernal cat. What the party didn't know, was the wizard had really been taken by bolt, and was merely biding his time, waiting for his wounds to stitch up.
