Mercy, Fax, Shyva, Seras, and Thomas the Ta- Er, Cullyn, accepted the task granted to them by the White Maidens of the Pristine Tower: They were to go to an Abyssal parasite-plane that was leeching demonic taint into Ar'vahl's wildlands, defeat the corrupt guardians within, and free, purify, or otherwise determine the fate of a Gold Dragon imprisoned within. After dispatching the Guardian of Bone in the first chamber quite handily, they had a far tougher time with the Guardian of Flesh's giant meat-hands; timely healing from Seras provided Mercy and Fax enough time to free Shyva and Cullyn from his (her? its?) crushing grip and dispatch the ravenous demon-colossus.
