Englebert purchases a Bottle of Shadows from Shyva for 3500gp, uses it to summon a Shadow every morning until it successfully kills him with its Strength damage (thus, losing his class levels and race and becoming a PC Shadow), then sells the Bottle and pays Shyva the 1750gp crafting fee he owes them. Afterward, Englebert rebuilds, adjusting his feats, traits, skill points, favored class choice, and point buy to reflect his new changes. The transformation into a CR 3 monster with no class levels makes Englebert an ECL 3 character, moving his XP up to the minimum for that ECL.
