Prelude to an afternoon with a gnoll

The party was hired out to pose as a wine vendor from Dweomerstar on a mission to lure out a band of gnolls that had been attacking carts specifically owned by the Triple Crown Wineries. After testing their skill against the guardsmen they were going to work alongside, and some experiencing a few most glorious failures, the party set out the following day on their mission. Early in their first night on the road the gnolls attacked, and the leader of this attacking party showed little difficulty literally tearing one of the guardsmen into multiple pieces. Somehow the party managed to start down a more diplomatic path amidst the chaos, and are now seeking an audience with Vinashtu, the apparent leader of these gnolls, and perhaps the only one that can explain just why the Triple Crown Wineries have drawn the gnoll's ire.
