Erenax, Townsend, Vex, Watson, Malik, and Doe'jon all heard rumors of a far off volcano mine being beset with troubles. In hopes of valuable treasure, the group set off to make the perilous overland journey towards the failing mining venture. The journey took the group up and across the Storval Plateau, and along their ascent they were assailed by the better part of a clan of Hill giants and their ogre servants. After murdering them (ruthlessly), Townsend and Erenax tracked those that fled down to their home in some nearby cliffside caves and proceeded to butcher the remaining giants. The rest of the group pressed on towards the volcano while they did this, and the two monsters eventually caught up to them. Erenax killed a bear named Winny along the way.
Upon reaching the volcanic area, the group found the mining town deserted and stripped of valuables, and its main building (with its belltowers) burned and destroyed, covered in a thin sheen of volcanic obsidian. Pressing on, the group stumbled into the magma fields surrounding the volcano, and into the territory of the female magma dragon that had laid claim to the area and driven out the miners with her kobold broodservants. Townsend swore alleigance to the creature, and the capricious dragon's attention was drawn by the extremely shiny metal of Malik's mithril full plate. A cluster fuck of a mexican standoff ensued as the dragon demanded such lovely baubles as tribute for entering its realm and disturbing its children, and Doe'jon made basically every kobold in existence nauseated forever. Shit went down, the dragon got away (albeit with a gaping wound from Erenax's axe), and Iomedae interceded on her champion's behalf to get his ass the FUCK out of there. Along the way, Townsend got smashed by Erenax (though Vex took a few of his bones for resurrection-y purposes), I think Watson died too or something, and Malik spent three hero points to call his deity down to stop him from being murdered and mugged (not necessarily in that order).
All players earn 30,700 XP and 23,400 GP.
