A devious Lord of Ar'vahl decided that he no longer needed the protection of Dweomerstar and defected from the nation. The guards of the city had their hands full keeping the town in order, so a small squad of guards took a team of adventurers to storm the castle. The army had 48 hours of supplies to siege along with all the wood they could chop to build siege engines.
There were many hours spent chopping wood, building catapults and palisades and lots of archers slain from the walls by murderous jets of blood. Heroes came and went to bolster the siege forces. Vex used a hero point to act out of turn and miss an attack. There was a bit of damage done to the walls on the first day, but by the time both the attacking army and the castle occupants had to sleep for the night the only real damage to the castle was to the spirits of the defenders and all the archers slain from outside the walls.
On the second day, the battle raged again. Akusom used a hero point for another action to fix a catapult. Vex used a hero point to make it rain the blood of all the bodies he had slain on the defenders dampening their morale, unfortunately, Vex wasn't very intimidating with his approach and the low morale only lasted for 1 hour. Miro had to use 2 hero points to cheat death from a trebuchet blast that exploded the barrel of acid she was carrying. She then was dropped by another trebuchet hit that caused her to bleed out and die.
When the eve of the second day fell, the castle defenders were well rested and most of the attackers were asleep. Gromag was assisting with a catapult when he heard a loud rumble in the distance like the sound of rolling thunder. The next thing they knew, mounted knights were charging at the sleeping camp, lances ready to impale. The one charge scattered the defending forces and they all fled back to Dweomerstar, ending the siege. The heroes would have to resupply and return to begin the siege anew. Despite the lords treacherous defection, he was known to have quite a horde of funds and could likely starve out most armies who attempted to siege. Miro was reincarnated as a halfling.
