The Thieves Guild
The Thieves Guild offers those of great skill, in stealth and with quick hands, a place to use these talents, in a way to earn a living under the protection of the shadowy order. Members must stay in secret, for the guild has been approved, but warned that members should keep to the shadows and out of the guard’s eyesight. Thieves have honor as well, and must abide by the honor code as described below.
The Thieves Guild Code:
-Thou shall not murder. Members are permitted to defend themselves. They are not required to save those in harm’s way, unless it be a fellow member of the guild. We are thieves, not assassins.
-Thou shall show the utmost loyalty and respect to the Thieves Guild itself and fellow Thieves guild members; never lying to one another, never stealing from one another, and never betraying one another in any manner, shape or form. We are thieves, a fraternity in shadows, not rivals or enemies to one another.
-Thou shall never take from someone whom needs it. This includes material and intellectual property, and individual freedom. We are thieves not slavers.
-Thou shall never divulge the secrets of the Guild to anyone not a member thereof. Any information pertaining to the Thieves Guild, directly or indirectly is not to be released to non-members.
Punishments:
First time offenses will be met with a severe fine of up to, but not less than, 10,000gp, as to discourage violation of the Thieves Guild code. Failure to pay the fine results in immediate excommunication of up to but no less than one year from the Thieves guild. After a year’s time the Under Council will meet in secret to discuss the possible reinstatement of the violator at the rank of associate.
Double offenders will be met with immediate excommunication of up to one year. Upon re-admittance to the Guild if a third offense should occur the Under Council will meet to discuss the status of the violators with a minimum sentence of excommunication.
Severe offender’s sentence will be immediately brought up to the Under Council’s attention. Permanent excommunication and seizure of assets is the minimum sentence for violators of this magnitude.
