The Dweomerstar Archeological Socitety has recently announced the discovery of a new, vast subterranean cave complex not far outside the city . It is beleived to be in the vicinity of a now long dead volcano. The society is looking for brave adventurers to explore, map and chronicale all that is inside of the cavern.
OOC:
\This is the start of a campaign to unlock the Ifrit race. Unlike some other recent unlock attempts, this isn't going to be a grand party. I'm looking for roughly 6-8 characters to make the adventure, with 4-6 max typically on any given day. I want the party to know each other, and not be "oh, i think i played with one of your characters"
I plan on running likely on sunday or monday, as those are my days off, and my sessions tend to run longer.
Failure is certainly a possibility, as is death, although death is not the only failure point. Like most of these ongoing campaigns, if you die, you're dead, unless you've got the means and methods to avoid it. If we are towards thr light end of players going on the journey, than I may allow one spare character, per player.
RP, Skills, and gear, will all be important.
I plan on being strict to time/order of things going in. if people are dying, then you're still in initiative. If you say something first in an RP sessions, that's what gets said, you need to deal with the consequences, ot try to back talk yourself out of it.
Be prepared to have weaknesses exploited. The world doesnt care you don't have someone competent with traps, if you go into a trap filled area, you're going to need to deal with traps, etc, etc
I'm stealing this idea from a series I saw on the Geek and Sundry youtube channel:
Along with a bio of your characters, I'm going to ask you to message me something you know about one of the other characters, that they themselves don't know.
I.E. Someone carries around some sort of small medallion, they don't know what it symbolizes, and havent been able to find anyone that does. However, you previously came across this person, by happenstance, and you saw/heard of this item, and while you recognized it, you weren't able to tell the person about it at the time.
Levels are going to start at either 3, or 5 I haven't entirely decided yet. EXP and wealth will not be handled by table stats, but by general advancement.
Any other questions? ask!
Interested? post here first with a general concept and short bio!
Edit to add:"Loot", as stated above, isn't going to work the same. I'm going old school, where most of your magic items especially, are going to have to be found, you're not going to be getting a significant portion of your wealth as, wealth.
edit 2: downtime will not be a thing, so crafting will be extremely limited, if not completely impossible.
edit 3: I've decided i want new characters for this, so when we get there, Everyone will make a level 1, I'll approve it, and then level it up and i'll give it a check over again.
Also, due to some recent "issues" with previous levels of sheets disappearing, let it be known, if i can't see every level, and i go looking and find your current level to be wrong, and i cant go back to see where it went wrong you will DIE
