Ok so. I'm working on this custom setting for a very high power game, which'll include custom races made with pathfinder's race creation system. Each race will be made with exactly 40 race points in total. As such, for the sake of balance, the normal pathfinder races won't be available. To compensate for that, some races will replace the default ones. Here's the first one, replacing Humans and Half-Elves:
Hyumes, the exarchs of versatility.
Standard Racial Traits
Ability Score Racial Traits: Hyume characters gain a +2 bonus to one ability score of their choice at creation to represent their varied nature. (0 RP)
Type: Hyume are humanoid creatures with both the human and the elf subtypes. (0 RP)
Size: Hyumes are Medium creatures and have no bonuses or penalties due to their size. (0 RP)
Base Speed: Hyumes have a base speed of 30 feet. (0 RP)
Languages: Hyumes begin play speaking Common and Hyume. Hyumes with high Intelligence scores can choose any languages they want (except secret languages, such as Druidic). See the Linguistics skill page for more information about these languages. (1 RP)
Defense Racial Traits
Fearless: Hyumes gain a +2 racial bonus on all saving throws against fear effects.
Lucky, Greater: Hyumes gain a +2 bonus to all their saving throws. (4 RP)
Feat and Skill Racial Traits
Bonus Feat: Hyumes select one extra feat at 1st level. (4 RP)
Focused Study: At 1st, 8th, and 16th level, Hyumes gain Skill Focus in a skill of their choice as a bonus feat. (4 RP)
Skilled: Hyumes gain an additional skill rank at 1st level and one additional skill rank whenever they gain a level. (4 RP)
Promising Future: At 1st level, Hyumes gain Hero’s Fortune as a bonus feat. (2 RP)
Quick Reactions: At 1st level, Hyumes gain Improved Initiative as a bonus feat. (2 RP)
Magical Racial Traits
Heroic Magic: Hyumes gain the following spell-like abilities: At Will – Heroic Fortune, Paragon Surge. The Caster Level of these spells equals the hyume’s character level. (10 RP)
Offense Racial Traits
Swarming: Hyumes are used to living and fighting communally with other members of their race. Up to two members of this race can share the same square at the same time. If two members of this race that are occupying the same square attack the same foe, they are considered to be flanking that foe as if they were in two opposite squares. (2 RP)
Other Racial Traits
Replacement: Hyumes exist in a setting where Humans and Half-Elfs don’t. For all intents and purposes, they’re treated as both these races.
Heroic: In campaigns that use the optional hero point system, each time a Hyume gains a level, it gains 2 hero points instead of 1. If it takes the Blood of Heroes feat, it gains 3 hero points each level instead of 2. (4 RP)
Multitalented: Members of this race choose two favored classes at 1st level and gain +1 hit points or +1 skill rank whenever they take a level in either of those classes. (2 RP)
Universal Favored Class Bonus:
Choose one class feature from one of your favored classes (may be a class feature you don’t have yet, including from a class you don’t have levels in). You treat your level in that class as +1/4 higher than it’s actual level, up to your character level, for all purposes of that class feature, including gaining it if you don’t already have it.
I wanted to show this to y'all. Ask for yer opinions and such. Eventually i'll organize things more throughly, make a google doc and stuff, but for now: this.
EDIT: Replaced Human Potential Spell-like for Linguistic quality, and Fearless and Quick Reactions trait.
