You awaken, your head pounding with pain. The light is dim, you can just barely make out the markings on the cold steel floor. What happened? Where are you? You glance around, looking for clues as your mind races to remember. Flashes come and go, the smell of oil, the clanging of gears... Oh no... You have been captured by the Technic League!
Suddenly, there is the sound of a distant explosion. You strain your ears and soon hear the sounds of battle. A riot? An escape? You stand and prepare yourself. Whatever it is, you are ready to use it to your advantage. The sounds are getting louder, closer. Then they stop. You listen closely and hear something... footsteps? Something scratches at the door of your cell. Your muscles tense. The door swings open, revealing...
"Come with me if you want to live." A hulking man stands in the door, holding a gleaming silver gun. He holds out an item.
"Do you know how to use this?"
In a strange coincidence, it happens to be exactly the kind of thing you favor. You take it.
"That was only the guards on duty, reinforcements will be coming soon." He turns and begins walking down the corridor.
You follow, and notice some other freed prisoners in the hallways. There is a grim determination in their eyes. You nod at them and turn to follow your rescuer.
The man shouts, "We've got company!" and begins firing at the guards rounding the corner. "Follow me! We have to get to the chopper!"
This campaign is set in Numeria, and its ultimate goal is to bring the equipment necessary for the creation of technological items back to Dweomerstar so as to make them more readily available to players. Players play characters who have been captured by the Technic League for one reason or another and subsequently freed by a group created specifically for this campaign, the Blue Web. The Blue Web seeks to free technology from the power-hungry Technic League and give it to the world.
